Eine Kooperation mit Herz! Nitiknitti meets addi in Altena

A collaboration with heart! Nitiknitti meets addi in Altena

Without social media, especially Instagram, I would have had the idea for workshops under my pseudonym  “Nitiknitti” I certainly would never have started it. Without the encouragement of my followers, and my knowledge and the dexterity required to create beautiful chunky knit bags, pillows, and decorative items, this site wouldn't exist, nor would I have met many of you in person. But luckily there's Instagram! 🙂 And since I love spending time knitting and chatting with you, I'm checking every available spot in my calendar for a potential workshop.

When I recently posted in my story asking if anyone would like to host me with my fully loaded car full of yarn balls for a workshop on May 28th, I received a message from the marketing department of addi by Selter.

I'm not just a finger knitter, but also an avid needle knitter for many years. Many of you follow my personal account. Anita Freitag-Meyer profile on Instagram and I have already inspired some to pick up the needles again. That I am sometimes so crazy and knit the same jacket 12 times (always the same Some people find MARTA by Lotilda pretty crazy, but once they get the hang of it, it becomes a favorite for many...or the fantastic models from PetiteKnit or Sandnes! I haven't been seen without needles in my hand in years. #nevernotknitting

My knitting needle collection has truly grown to a considerable size!

Over the years, I've acquired all sizes, lengths, and designs of mostly circular knitting needles and systems so that I can start whenever the knitting bug hits me again.

The manufacturer addi is heavily represented, and you probably won't be surprised that I have three addiclick systems. The essentials: addiclick Basic, Short Tips, and the olive wood version are a must!

I'm so happy that this wonderful family business is opening its doors to me for a knitting workshop on May 28th!

My heart beats for family businesses, especially manufacturing ones! The traditional company addi is now run by the sixth generation and employs 150 people in Altena, Westphalia.

In my own biscuit factory With my children, the fourth generation is already involved, and quality made in Germany simply inspires me. Especially in these uncertain times, family businesses stand for stability and long-term strategies and goals. Because, as an entrepreneur, I certainly deal with similar issues and challenges on a daily basis as Ms. Malcus and her team, I'm particularly pleased about this collaboration and getting to know them.

Review: It was soooo lovely!! The visit to addi and the warm welcome from managing director Claudia Malcus and her daughter Pauline Dörr made this workshop very special. A long-established company that is run with passion, a spirit of innovation, sustainability, high quality standards and warmth. You can feel the loyalty to the boss and the company during the tour of production, which was running at some urgently needed work stations during our visit, despite it being a bridge day. I am very impressed and grateful for this fantastic day! Even though we knitted with our fingers, addi needles are a luxury for the hands and once you have seen how many steps are necessary to make a knitting or crochet hook, you will understand what one workshop participant meant when she said: “Now I appreciate my needles even more when I hold them in my hands!”
