Update 19.8.2024: I'm leaving this text as it is because it reflects my basic idea of tandem knitting…but so many new yarns and patterns have been added to Nitiknitti's collection that tandem knitting no longer refers only to the simple mohair sweater. If you'd like to be added to the list of tandem knitters, please feel free to write to me! Best, Niti
Hello dear ones, whoever follows me on Instagram If you're following me, you've come across my simple design for a feather-light mohair sweater more and more often in recent weeks. I've discovered a great new wool label ( majogarn ) and have set up a collaboration to offer you ready-made knitting kits, including instructions and an optional addi olive wood needle. Go to the knitting kit. HERE

The sweater is designed as follows: we knit an oversize/one-size sweater with needle size 8, which fits perfectly in sizes 36-40.
Our knitting kits contain the complete yarn material (12 balls of 25g each) including instructions and storage box for the “Nitis Oversize Mohair Sweater”
Optionally, an addi olive wood circular knitting needle in needle size 8 mm / 80 cm can be ordered.
Pearl Mohair is made from a luxurious blend of 70% Super Kid Mohair and 30% silk, which has a beautiful shine, is itch-free, and feels incredibly soft and light.
Weight / Length: 25g = approx. 210m
The pattern is knitted with 4 strands
This knitting kit was the first product in our recently launched online shop. We went live at 10:00 a.m. on a Friday and were completely sold out by 1:00 p.m. I had a feeling you'd like it, but I didn't expect the response. I immediately ordered a lot of new stock and more colors. We're constantly restocking the shop and expect new stock all the time.
I received many requests via Instagram asking if I could offer this simple model (you just need to know how to knit and purl) ready-knitted. The idea immediately appealed to me… Nitiknitti as a fashion label, so to speak… DREAM!
At first, I had the spontaneous idea of hiring knitters to make this model for me. A survey identified more than 200 interested women who were interested in having their knitting done. However, after some consideration and discussions with experienced women in this field, I decided against it. Unfortunately, I don't have the personal resources to manage a knitwear label, including the preliminary briefing, quality control, selecting knitters, setting standards, etc. A lot goes into it, and I'd like to focus on other things right now and not expand my NK brand into finished clothing for the time being.
Nevertheless, there is a need for women who would like to have this sweater knitted.
I have therefore developed a new idea with a network concept:
I am listing here, in the order in which messages were received and without any judgment on my part, the Instagram profiles of knitters who would like to knit my pattern for others. Please network directly and with each other. I'm just providing visibility.
It would work like this: a prospective customer would select their "perfect match" from the profiles and write to them. If you agree, the customer would order the material package from me in SHOP and has it delivered to her partner via the delivery address.
The knitter knits and sends the finished sweater to the customer within a reasonable time. The customer sends her the wages and postage (you have to decide whether this is done in advance or after delivery). I've had several discussions over the past few days about a "fair wage" for this commissioned work. My suggestion for starting your negotiations would be €100 per sweater. Use this as a guideline and argue your own case when networking.
Update August 2024: There are now several models with varying levels of difficulty, each requiring varying amounts of expertise and time. In my opinion, a reasonable wage could well be around €150.
