Aros Sweater - Petiteknit Knitting Pattern - German

The Aros Sweater is worked top down. First, it is worked back and forth on a circular needle to shape the neck, then in the round. The yoke is constructed such that first shoulder increases are worked back and forth. Then sleeve increases are worked, followed by a section with raglan increases. The neckband is worked at the end from picked-up stitches and folded double. The sleeves are worked in the round on double-pointed needles or using the Magic Loop method.

The Aros Sweater consists of stripes in 7 different colours. However, the sweater can also be worked in a single colour or with fewer colours.

If an Aros Dress is desired instead of the Aros Sweater, simply continue to knit the body to dress length.

Size Guide

The Aros Sweater should have approximately 5 cm (2 inches) of positive ease in relation to your bust circumference. Sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) are designed to fit a bust circumference of 75-80 (80-85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm [29.5-31.5 (31.5-33.5) 33.5-35.5 (35.5-37.5) 37.5-39.5 (39.5-43.25) 43.25-47.25 (47.25-51.25) 51.25-55) 55-59] inches. The measurements of the finished garment are on the front page (note that these measurements are only valid if the stated gauge is met). Measure your bust circumference (or the widest part of your body) before you begin knitting to determine the size that fits you best. For example, if your bust circumference is 90 cm (35.5 inches), you should choose size S. A sweater in size S has a bust circumference of 95 cm (37.5 inches) and would therefore have 5 cm (2 inches) of positive ease in this case.

If you extend to dress length, the positive ease at the hips should be 0 cm or greater.
