The Esther Sweater is worked in a textured pattern from the top down. First, the upper back is worked with increases. Then, stitches are picked up for the shoulders, which are then joined at the front to form the front piece. The front and back pieces are joined under the armholes to form the body, which is knitted straight down. The sleeves are worked in the round on circular needles. A ribbing is knitted at the neck.
First, knit a swatch before you begin knitting, and measure it – remember that the swatch must be correct in both height and width for the measurements given on the cover page to be accurate.
Size Guide
The Esther Sweater should have approximately 25 cm of positive ease for the smaller sizes and gradually less ease for the larger sizes. Sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) are designed to fit a bust circumference of 75-80 (80-85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm. The finished garment measurements can be found on the cover page. Measure yourself before you begin knitting to determine the size that fits you best. If your bust circumference (or the widest part of your body) measures 90 cm, you should choose size S. A size S sweater has a bust circumference of 114 cm, and the positive ease in this example is 24 cm. A size chart can be found here.
