The Jenny Jacket V-neck is worked from top to bottom in smocking. First, the back is worked in rows, and short rows create the shoulder slant. Then, stitches are cast on at the top of the back for the shoulders. The body is worked in rows on circular needles. The sleeves are knitted in the round in smocking. Finally, stitches are cast on along the front edges for the bands, which are worked in double knit.
Before you start knitting, make a gauge swatch to determine the right needle size for you. Wash the swatch before measuring from it.
Size guide
The Jenny Jacket V-neck should have a positive ease of approximately 15-20 cm in sizes XS to L, approximately 13-18 cm in sizes XL and 2XL, and approximately 5-10 cm in sizes 3XL, 4XL, and 5XL. Sizes XS (S), M (L), XL (2XL), 3XL (4XL), and 5XL fit a chest circumference of 80-85 cm.
(85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) 140-150 cm. The finished cardigan's measurements are shown on the front. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine the size that fits you best. If your chest (or widest part) measures 90 cm, choose size S. A size S cardigan has a chest measurement of 107 cm and, in this case, would have 17 cm of positive ease.
