The Lyon Sweater is worked from the top down. First, the upper back part is worked with increases. Then the shoulders are made from cast-on stitches on the upper back. Stitches are cast on along the shoulders, and the rest of the yoke is knitted together on circular needles, first in rows, then in the round. The body is worked in the round on circular needles, and the sleeves are also worked in the round on double-pointed needles or using the Magic Loop method. Finally, a ribbed hem with double-stitch is worked at the neckline and folded over. The Lyon Sweater is knitted with stripes, the placement of which is described in the pattern.
Size guide
The Lyon Sweater should have a positive ease of movement of around 20 cm in relation to your chest measurement, but increasingly less in the larger sizes. Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a chest measurement of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) 140-150 cm. The measurements of the finished sweater can be found on the front page. Please note: These measurements are only valid if the gauge is adhered to. Take your own measurements before you start knitting to determine the size that fits you best. If your chest measurement (or the widest part of your body) measures 90 cm, you should choose size S. A sweater in size 5XL is suitable for women. S has a chest circumference of 108 cm and in this case would have a range of motion (positive ease) of 18 cm.
