The Maggie Cardigan is worked from the top down. First, the upper back is worked with increases. Then, the shoulder sections are made from increased stitches on the upper back. Stitches are picked up along the shoulders, and the remaining yoke and body are knitted in rows on circular needles. The sleeves are worked in the round on double-pointed needles or using the Magic Loop method. Finally, bands are knitted along the front edges and around the neckline.

First, knit a gauge swatch to determine the correct needle size for you. Wash the swatch before measuring it.

Size guide

The Maggie Cardigan should have a positive ease of movement of around 5 cm. Sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) fit a chest measurement of 75-80 (80-85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm. The measurements of the finished cardigan can be found on the front page. Note: These measurements are only valid if the gauge is adhered to. Measure yourself first before you start knitting to determine the size that fits you best. If your chest (or widest part of your body) measures 90 cm, you should choose size S. A size cardigan is suitable for a chest measurement of 75-80 (80-85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm. S has a chest circumference of 96 cm and in this case would have a range of motion (positive ease) of 6 cm.
