The Maude Tee is knitted in one piece from top to bottom. The collar is worked first, then the yoke, and finally the body and sleeves. The collar is worked in the round so that it appears in stockinette stitch on both the front and back rows. The button plackets of the shirt are worked in double face (double stitch) so that they also appear in stockinette stitch on both the front and back rows. The neckline is created using short rows. The yoke itself is formed with raglan increases.

Please note that this pattern uses various techniques such as Judy's Magic Cast On, German Short Rows and double face simultaneously, so it is recommended that you read the entire pattern carefully step by step, especially the yoke section, before you start knitting.

First, knit a gauge swatch to determine the correct needle size for you.

Size guide

The Maude Tee should have a positive ease of approximately 10 cm in relation to your chest measurement (i.e. the shirt should be 10 cm larger than your own circumference). Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5 XL fit a chest measurement of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) 140-150 cm. The measurements of the finished shirt are on the front. Please note that these measurements are only valid if the gauge is adhered to. Measure yourself first before you start knitting to determine the size that fits you best. If your chest (or widest part of your body) measures 90 cm, you should choose size S. A shirt in size S has a chest circumference of 99 cm and in this case would have a range of motion (positive ease) of 9 cm.
