The Moby Sweater is worked top-down in a textured and cable pattern. First, the back is worked with short rows to shape the shoulder slopes. Then, stitches are picked up for the shoulders, which are subsequently joined at the front to form the front piece. The front and back pieces are placed on one needle below the armholes, thus forming the body, which is knitted straight down. The sleeves are worked in the round on double-pointed needles or using the Magic Loop method. The neckband is folded double at the end and knitted onto the inside.
First, knit a gauge swatch to determine the correct needle size for you – please note that this can vary from yarn to yarn. Wash your gauge swatch before measuring, as the textured pattern may grow when washed.
Size Guide
The Moby Sweater should have a positive ease of 15-20 cm relative to your bust circumference. Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a body bust circumference of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) 140-150 cm. The measurements of the finished sweater can be found on the front page of the pattern. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine the size that fits you best. If your bust circumference (or the widest part of your body) measures 90 cm, you should choose size S. A size S sweater has a bust circumference of 106 cm and would therefore have a positive ease of 16 cm. Measurement chart can be found here.
