Sunday 100% Merino wool from Sandnes Garn

Sunday is a yarn made of 100% Merino wool. It's a perfect base yarn: thin and not superwash treated. The yarn can be knitted with single or double strands. It also knits beautifully with Silk Mohair.

Merino wool not only provides excellent thermal insulation, but the structure of its fibers also wicks moisture away from the body, retaining warmth even when damp. Wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in water before it feels wet.

Our suppliers guarantee that our wool does not come from sheep that have been subjected to mulesing.

For machine washing, we recommend washing all wool items separately using the wool cycle to treat them as gently as possible. Since Merino wool absorbs moisture well, it's important to spin hand-knitted items briefly before letting them dry flat, preferably on a towel. Never wash hand-knitted items in a mesh laundry bag. This creates friction, which can cause the item to felt.
