Neues aus der Nitiknitti Strickwelt

News from the Nitiknitti knitting world

As always, there's been a lot going on here at Nitiknitti! After the big move to our new premises at the end of October, we've settled in well and everything is in the right place. The first two workshops have already taken place, and I'm genuinely happy that we now have a workshop space here that offers plenty of space and has a good atmosphere. Those who still know my old office will be able to empathize with how pleased I am to now be able to better separate my two worlds, biscuits and wool. A new office is currently being renovated for me in our administration building at Hans Freitag, and I'll be moving into new premises there at the end of the month, so everything is in perfect order. I believe that the external environment also has a strong influence on one's inner well-being.

We've been very busy with the new topic of decorative wreaths made from merino wool . When I announced this workshop at the beginning of August, all 40 places were sold out within an hour! We've never experienced such a run before. We've now expanded the in-person workshops to over 50 places and still haven't been able to fulfill all requests. Since Bianca and I don't have any more time, we quickly developed a video format that allows you to make a wreath yourself using my instructions anytime and anywhere, completely independently of me. You can order this video course, including materials, HERE. The knitting kit includes a straw wreath (40cm diameter), 1.2kg of merino wool, and the password to the video platform, where you can follow the course at your own pace. I'm delighted to see the many photos from those who have already taken up this offer and successfully knitted wreaths!

The shop also has new Knitting kits for cozy scarves:

If you like big needles and quick knitting projects like me, then I recommend "Nitis's Patent Scarf." You select a total of 12 balls of yarn for the kit, making sure to knit the scarf with 4 strands; so always select 4 balls of one color. Just to be on the safe side: You choose either 12 identical balls for a single-color scarf, or 8 and 4 balls for a two-color scarf, or 3 x 4 balls for three block stripes.

My blue scarf was knitted from Dusty Blue and Mist; the other from Tiramisu and Anemone.

If you like to knit with finer needles, Birgit's scarf HEDDA recommended. It is knitted with 4.5mm needles, is also over 2m long, and has a simple cable pattern:

Here are a few more photos from the last few weeks and in the next few days you can look forward to the shop launch of the community sweater “Never not knitting” in navy and grey in many sizes – perhaps a lovely Christmas present for all knitting enthusiasts…like us! 😉
