Nitis Cashmere Hat as a knitting kit 3x Cashmere Air, incl. leather label
For the autumn/winter season 2024/25, we have put together a knitting kit for a simple but very elegant cashmere hat.
You get:
3 balls of Cashmere AIR
1 leather label
1 printed instruction manual
You will also need a short 4mm circular knitting needle and a set of 4mm double-pointed needles .
The hat can be worn casually as a beanie, but it also looks just as good as a classic turn-up hat.
The hat is designed as a women's hat in one size. We tried the model on numerous Nitiknitti team members and found it to be excellent. Thanks to the high elasticity of the yarn, the hat is very flexible.
The instructions recommend an Italian cast-on - don't panic!
I tried it too, and after three attempts... I finally managed to hit the bell normally, the world didn't end, and my hat is where it belongs! ;-)
This lightweight, voluminous cashmere yarn boasts a fabulously even knit, is incredibly soft, and a dream to work with. The fine material is obtained from the undercoat of the cashmere goat. The polyamide content provides fluffiness and elasticity.
25g / 85 linear meters 88% cashmere / 12% polyamide
Use wool detergent and, very importantly: wash in cold water.
We recommend our Nitiknitti wool detergent.
Yarn made in Italy.

In addition to my chunky knit items, which are knitted entirely by hand, I also love knitting with thick wooden needles. I have often been asked about my self-knitted oversized mohair sweaters, which I have shown on Instagram .
I have happily written down my simple instructions for you and put together a knitting kit with which you can easily knit my mohair sweater.
You just have to master knit and purl stitches and sew four pieces together at the end. I made sure the material was of the finest quality and entered into a collaboration with the young brand MAJO Garn from Amsterdam. I am very happy about this very special yarn. Read an excerpt from the MAJO website here:
MAJO GARN was born with a mission
“Itch-free, exceptionally soft and comfortable”
We select yarns that are particularly soft on the skin and provide a wonderful feel. Super Kid Mohair used for Pearl Mohair is the finest quality of mohair that can only be obtained from the first shearing of baby Angora goats aged five to six months. These fibers are 24 to 26 microns thick, which is considered very gentle on the skin. Silk is a natural, non-allergenic fiber that has been used since ancient times and is suitable for people with very sensitive skin. Merino wool used for Fine Merino is absolutely itch-free as the fiber is extremely fine compared to other wool fibers. They are more flexible and bend gently when pressed against the skin and do not cause irritation.
“Yarns that do not harm the earth”
We select yarns not only because they are of the highest quality, but also because they are produced in an ethical and sustainable way. Our yarns are made from 100% cruelty-free mohair and mulesing-free wool fibers, guaranteeing the correct treatment of animals, with the farm promising responsible husbandry and production. We only select yarns made from natural fibers because they are considered more environmentally friendly due to their renewability and biodegradability. Additionally, natural fibers have a lower environmental impact because their production does not use as many chemicals as synthetic fibers. Our supplier in Italy is certified for its commitment to sustainability and follows ecological standards to produce sustainable yarns that are free from harmful chemicals.
Knitting has become a worldwide phenomenon in recent years for anyone looking for a fun, creative and therapeutic activity to do at home. And the trend has even been driven by a new generation of knitting designers who are transforming the "old-fashioned" practice into a modern and trendy fashion. Knitting is a new style of sustainable fashion because it avoids the pollution often caused by the mass production and consumption of the fast fashion industry. Our goal is to encourage and involve more people in creating their own clothes and spread the joy of knitting. We will constantly strive to support this trend so that it continues to the next generations.
